Non-Reflective Paper
Synertec can transform an ‘original’ document through our ClearRead format or by increasing the font size to improve clarity.
We can also support for those with sight related issues includes using a ‘pastel’ shade of yellow to reduce the glare on the document. This can be applied to both paper and digital documents.
EasyRead
A Synertec-defined format to enhance clarity and comprehension for those with learning or cognitive disabilities, or those whose first language is not English. EasyRead builds on the foundations of our ClearRead format and includes imagery designed to support the ‘group headings’ we create, to aid comprehension and clarity.
ClearRead
A Synertec-defined format to enhance clarity and comprehension for those with limited vision or dyslexia. We measure simplified
wording and sentence structure, add definition to headings, and use ‘group’ association for increased comprehension.
Braille
We have consulted with specialists to ensure our braille documents meet required guidelines. We have also consulted with Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and will be including an ‘original’ print version with out braille letters. Braille content will not be folded, as this could damage the braille dots. We also braille print all envelopes in which braille content is enclosed.
Text-to-Speech
Where the content of a document allows, we will transform the ‘original’ to our ClearRead™ format and output this revised version
document as an MP3 audio file, which is delivered by email. We can also send as a .pdf format, which contains an in-built Text-To-Speech Reader.
Accessible Information in Healthcare
In this educational webinar hosted by Synertec, our expert speakers address the accessibility gap within healthcare. They discuss how we can support the NHS and healthcare providers to aid comprehension by transforming letters into a format suited to each patient’s individual needs.
EasyRead Graphics
Synertec has commissioned specific imagery to support the implementation of the NHS England AIS for which it has full copyright ownership. This imagery is specifically tailored to support the common large-volume patient communication activities undertaken by many NHS Trusts. It is used to further aid comprehension and clarity.
