Diabetic Eye Screening

A variety of eye problems can affect people who have diabetes, this can lead to sight loss if not identified early. One of these conditions is diabetic retinopathy, a complication of diabetes caused by high blood sugar levels damaging the back of the eye (retina). Diabetic retinopathy can cause blindness if left undiagnosed and untreated. During the screening, a picture is taken of the back of the eyes to check for any changes.

Individuals with diabetes, who are aged 12 or over, will be sent a letter inviting them to a screening appointment every 1 or 2 years, these letters are produced and dispatched by Synertec. How often a patient is invited depends on the results from their last 2 screening tests.

We aim that with our unified social posts, it creates a strong impact by informing and educating people about the importance of diabetic eye screenings. Through this effort, we hope to stimulate discussions on diabetes and encourage individuals with diabetes to attend their eye screening appointments.
